More of Megan

Miriam Lovell Dyer was nice enough to give us the files for the photographs she took of Megan while she was testing out the cocoons that she had knitted. All of the photos were beautiful, due to Miriam's skill, but these are my favorites.

Snow day!

We got some great wet snow today so Tyler, Seger, and I went out in the backyard to enjoy it while Megan slept. Here are a couple of pics. Oh, and FYI, the snowman's name is "Tylermommy"...named by Tyler since (as he said so matter-of-factly) we were the ones who made it.

Megan meets Aunt Melissa and Cousin Drew

We had a great long weekend as Tyler and Megan's Aunt Melissa and Cousin Drew came to visit. It was fun to see the kids interact at their different ages. There were many crawling races, pretend games and Duplo and Wedgit creations. It's hard to believe that Megan will be Drew's size (okay, maybe not that tall) in just a year. Talent Shared

I'm always in awe when I encounter those who have exceptional talent in areas in which my skill is in great need of improvement. The encounters are a fun way to see how different and unique God has made us and how we're so much better when we work together and share our talents with each other.

So what does this have to do with Tyler and Megan? Well, yesterday we had the great opportunity to have Megan photographed by Miriam Lovell Dyer, who is the wife of one of my friends from work. She wanted to photograph a newborn to test out some of her new "props" and we were thrilled to volunteer Megan for the job. Miriam is truly an exceptional artist whose work brings out the beauty in everything she photographs. Here is the link to the photos of Megan, but I encourage you to explore her entire blog and her website.

The girl with the curl in the middle of her head

When I was young, we had a baby picture of my mom in our house in which she had a cute curl in the middle of her head. When she talked about it, she would always recite the following poem (which she thought applied to her...I'd disagree about the "horrid" part).

'There Was a Little Girl'
There was a little girl,
Who had a little curl,
Right in the middle of her forehead.
When she was good,
She was very good indeed,
But when she was bad she was horrid.
-- Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

Megan shows no signs of being horrid, but this picture made me wonder if we're in for some fun later in her life.

The "One Minute Show"

About a week ago, as we were getting ready for the final part of the bedtime routine Tyler said, "Wait, I need to do the one minute show." We figured he was just stalling, but we gave in since it was only one minute. Since then, we have made it part of the bedtime routine. It's not super-exciting, but it's funny to see what he sings about each night. Here's a sample (as you can see, he was pretty excited that he took a shower for the first time):
