I recently read an article in Wondertime that talked about how hiding pureed vegetables in your child's food (promoted by Jessica Seinfeld and others) is not the best way to go because then kids will never learn to like vegetables in their true form.
I'm not sure where I stand on the issue yet, but I do recently sense a need to get more creative in how I feed Ty his vegetables. You see, our little boy who once ate anything you put in front of him, has developed an new practice whenever we give him vegetables (with the exception of canned green beans and peas and chopped kale hidden in meatloaf and on pizza): He slowly picks them one by one off of his plate (he has even peeled them off of pizza), looks us straight in the eyes, tilts his head, and says, "I don't like these, remember?"

Hilarious, Teri...I love the image of Tyler saying, "remember?"...Elise is right there, too! She'll only eat fresh/frozen Corn, peas, or carrots...no other veggies AT ALL and she won't eat ANY meat except Hot Dogs (do those even count?!). Let me know if you figure out how to get a 2 year old to eat a balanced diet...until then, I'm sure they'll be fine!
I didn't like veggies but I do now, but not because I didn't like the taste. I think the problem for me was the dumb veggies got in the way of me gobbling my food asap. Food with veggies on it was harder to eat.
Jane loves sweet potatoes puree just plain. They're tasty and easy to eat.
